About Weinberg Nature Center
To promote and encourage an understanding, appreciation and study of the practice of conservation and of the natural sciences.
History

The Weinberg Nature Center sits on land donated to the Village of Scarsdale in 1958 by Wilhelm Weinberg, a Dutch banker and art collector. Weinberg had been on a business trip to Paris when the Nazis overran Holland. Thus, by accident, he escaped the Nazis, but his wife and children died in Auschwitz. The Weinberg Nature Center is dedicated to their memory.

To the Village of Scarsdale & the Friends of Weinberg who oversee all our operations, to the many visitors and volunteers who bring this wildlife sanctuary to a healthy flow of operations and programs, to all those committed souls who have put in countless hours and given to the Weinberg Nature Center. Thank you!
