The Weinberg Nature Center's Animal Friends

The Weinberg Nature Center is presently home to more more than 40 animal friends, including:

  • 4 chinchillas

  • 1 rabbit

  • 2 guinea pigs

  • 3 toads

  • 1 blue tongue skink

  • 35+ stick bugs

  • 5 snakes

  • 7 geckos

  • 2 tarantulas

  • 5 turtles

  • 2 catfish

  • 1 panda hamster

  • 1 dove

  • 2 green-faced conures

  • 2 bearded dragons

  • 2 frogs

  • Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches

  • 1 vinnegaroon

Neighbors: We have close animal transients, like Henrietta and Tommy, two wild turkeys who often visit the Nature Center with a handful of poults (baby turkeys!).

Did you know?: 90% of the squirrel population at this wildlife sanctuary has either been orphaned or injured and successfully completed rehabilitation with Maura Mandrano (licensed).
